Cancer has affected all of us in some way, whether we’re fighting the battle ourselves or know someone who is or we’ve lost someone we love. Nearly two million people are diagnosed each year, and we lose 600,000 people to this disease. Fortunately, there’s hope. With organizations like the American Cancer Society funding research, supporting patients, and working on prevention, more people are surviving than ever before. That’s why ADA Compliance Monitor and Richard Horvath are joining the fight.
All profits from October ADA monitoring sign-ups will go towards the American Cancer Society to fund research.
Real Men Wear Pink
Richard is proud to be a part of Real Men Wear Pink of Central & Eastern NC. Founded by men who are dedicated to taking a stand in the fight against breast cancer, RMWP is made up of community leaders who work to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Each year, the ACS saves thousands of lives by providing early detection and prevention services, funding for research, and patient support, and RMWP of Central & Eastern NC has raised over $500,000 to aid their cause in just four years.
So, How Does It Work?
Men from a wide array of backgrounds, including business owners, media professionals, and healthcare providers, are nominated (or nominate themselves) to join the drive. Past RMWP candidates often nominate new leaders in order to grow the drive and maximize the amount raised. Each man involved has a minimum goal of $2,500, but of course, there’s no limit on how much can be raised, and there’s even a bit of healthy competition among the community leaders involved to see who can raise the most.
A Note from Richard Horvath:
Why I Wear Pink
Cancer affects everyone – it doesn’t matter if you’re a man or a woman. That’s why I’m stepping up to fight cancer with all I have. Since I’m in a position to make a difference within my community, I believe I have an obligation to do so. By raising money and awareness through Real Men Wear Pink, I’m helping to save more lives.
Why I Support the American Cancer Society
Every day, the American Cancer Society is saving more lives from cancer than ever before. They’re helping people take steps to reduce their risk or find it early, when it’s easier to treat. They provide free information and services when and where people need it. They fund groundbreaking cancer research, and they’re working to ensure access to early detection, like mammograms, as well as get the treatment they need.
